Another Day - Another Dispute

Big problem I have these days both there and to be honest sometimes on forums like these is the line 'Sold as seen' or 'Look at the pics' or 'You could see what you were buying'

No I fecking couldn't because pictures hide a thousand lies.

Very few make an honest description listing everything, they know that would hurt the price and rely on peoples optimism.
Agreed with that - I've read comments on here, and in feedback on ebay about this.

Sometimes, you do truly get people who put in a lot of effort, and take close up pictures so you can really see the condition of something - but in many cases, it's a slightly blurry, distance shot, yet with comments saying something is "mint".

Some people always seem to fall back on that old chestnut "caveat emptor" which just shows a certain degree of old mindset and detachment from the current reality - because as you've mentioned, if you've paid by paypal, you're probably in a strong position to get a favourable resolution - all the same, though, it can be a tedious and time consuming waste of time, if greater accuracy and detail had been available at the outset.

Great, I sold an item, buyer didn't pay, opened a case, buyer still didn't pay. Case closed.
Now the buyer has left me negative feedback, the transaction was cancelled! Because he didn't pay up!
eBay are worse than useless when I asked for the feedback to be removed, still no action.

I feel like deleting my Ebay account for good.

I got neg feedback once, I called ebay, the feedback rating was removed within 5 mins after they quickly reviewed the case

Ebay has gone to pot, but its been going for a long while...just there is no real alternative, gumtree is owned by the same company as well.

Gumtree is my favourite for local things. Fast and effective local classified ads.

I have a lot of joy with eBay for local things too, as you can normally complete outside of eBay and you have inspected the goods.

I am still waiting for my latest dispute to be resolved by the delivery of goods to me, and hoping they are as described as the seller so far gives me no reason to expect anything but a brick in a box...

it's infuriating to say the least -I've just had someone ask a half a dozen questions bid soemthing up then withdraw all their bids with less than 24 hours to go grrr
