another bloody rant

that really annoys me too.

any why do the "motorway patrol" people who are not even police need brand new land rovers? what can they do in that that they cant do in a transit van?

When a VIP visits the car park here is full of Range Rovers/Land Rovers all 09 plate. Looks like a Land Rover showroom. The sales rep must love the government
Nothing is to much for the Police and their mates :x

The fact is a sales rep gets nowhere the government, all deals are done direct with the manufacturer often on a buyback lease which means that the cost to you as ratepayers is far less than you are perceiving.

Supplying the Police etc is seen by manufaturers as a coveted opportunity for marketing populace that do visit showrooms

what shall we say - "maybe LGF's police force should have bought 2". The point is, whether his £38k is correct or not, is that the job could be done in a mondeo and a few more quid in the ratepayers' coffers. You have to ask, are all their purchases premium items - oak furniture? waterman pens instead of bics? etc etc

Well in respect of Cambridgeshire I cant comment, But I do recall visiting West Bar garages in Shefffield a few years back, and all very interesting.

Yes there were the quick cars for whatever operational requirements seen fit , and a boat load of part exchanges from garages on loan to target burglars and other miscreants as part of South yorkshire polices operations.

I trust this answers your question and goes someway to calming your sceptisim .

Get the fat bastards back on foot I say! Do you ever see on TV about a Greggs being robbed??
Probably something to do with to half the local plod being in there 24/7
I work in a local hospital some weekends, and the canteen is full of the fat gits every Sunday morn, all getting their cheap fry-ups.

More diligence, less flatulence ;)

We have to deal with the likes of these around here, coming this year.
