And today I did......

Today I came into work 2 hours early to fit my new forks that I have been all excited about.

Only to discover that one of the threaded bosses to take the V Brake adaptors is 2mm too narrow centre to centre.

5 minutes before On One shut for the day.

E-mail and photos sent after quick phone call. Demanding new ones ASAP before I return the faulty ones.

I also subtly mentioned that of they didn't have any decent ones in stock I could, albeit reluctantly, accept a pair of the carbon ones for the same price. You can only try I suppose.

Today I found my way back on to the computer, work has been treating me like a slave for hire so time is a premium.

Also done my homework on my own towns trails.

I found a 18 mile 80% off road route ending in the picturesque New Lanark.

I have done all the route today after plotting yesterday and found it....how can I say astounding.

perhaps after a few meets with you lads I will be able to show you around my own home trails.

Now this is bit is for big eck..... I was riding a 2004 bighit, black in colour, with Jr Ts upfront....the only thig that makes my bike stand out is the hope M4s with goodridge braided hoses.

Im 31 years old but look much younger (I wish) you made a joke about old men on the hill.....do you remember?

If you dont remember ....just blame it on age old chap....we only met the once!

Went to Drumlanrig today, halfway round the black and my crank arm fell off, scooted back to Rik's for a new bolt, jobs a goodun :) Spent a bit of time talking to a guy who was getting a bike built up and then took a few short cuts through the red to pick up from where I left off. Was getting a bit tired so decided to call it a day. Met the chap getting his SS inbred built just as it was finished and he very kindly gave me a wee shot :) and rather nice it was too.

welcome to the dark side- just don't tell the dr ;)

very jealous of your drum activities, off to run round the crawfurdland route the morra (day off  )

It had a very neat dropout, the disc mount was inside the seat/chain stay and was slotted to match the slotted dropout. Had never saw i before and always wondered why it hadn't been done.

Interesting cannondale Gazz. Not keeping up with current events i missed the model
Just wondering why it looks so disproportional,i mean ,are those forks original :?

Do you ride it during the daytime
 Sorry

ha ha not getting any love for the old dale then

a comparison I would make is the dale is a old-world vintage red and as yet your palate can only understand and still craves a new world plonk from cliff richards vineyard ;) (e.g. a Raleigh)

The forks are original and yes it has been out in the daytime- tis a sm800 46' er before all this 29'er stuff became cool.

here is another fine example that looks better as it is a smaller size

Oooh, I like the pink one a lot.

But would never think of sprucing it up, nicely shabby.

Still raging about my fork misadventure. Thank god I decided to try the adaptors on before I stripped the old ones out, fit the new ones and cut the steerer. I don't know what came over me, I'm not normally that adult.
