And today I did......

That photo just makes my odd, but with gathering pace, obsession with owning a DeKerf even more likely to get me skint at some point before the summer.

Would it help if I told you I got it for £50 and its one of the original mountain frames?

Nope, it would make me very sad. And baffled how I never find these bargains.

I'll give you sixty quid and six cans of Tennents lager for it.

I've said before that prior to joining retrobike most of the desirable mtb marques were unknown to me, never heard of Fat for example. However I've been into single speed for all of the noughties and thus I'd heard of DeKerf, they were the bees knees. Thus Kaiser get that fixed, done up as only you can and ridden and enjoyed. ;)

well tonight i took the bb out of the broken univega , i was shocked

the drive side cup had broken away from the center bit :? then it has pushed the non drive side out thus stopping my fun at pitlochry :(

1 new bb later (not brand new mind) and it's fixed and ready for more abuse

Forgot what i was going to say I did today

I think I've sorted the stripped thread in the gear hanger of the Trek 9500.
I got a BETD frame saver threaded insert which I press fitted into the hanger after a bit ofcareful filing. Thus hopefully the Trek will ride again.

Also bought a frame as I've mentioned already to replace the DB Topanga. The reason being the Topangas BB is on the way out but its seized into the frame. The BB has been fitted back to front by some previous numpty, cross threading and now will not come out. Attempts have obviously been made as the teeth in the plastic cup are totally mangled. Not worth the hassle of fixing but it was a great frame to ride when it worked :)
