Which on-one? Must admit their carbon frames have piqued my interest, although the factory decals are a bit pants. And there's some direct from the factory Chinese carbon frames on ebay that look interesting too...

Aye the as yet to be released 'Lurcher' carbon 29er with swappable drop outs. Same geo as the new carbon 29er but slightly heavier (it weighs 1300g) and with the as mentioned swap outs.

Another option was the OS Blackbuck 29er, steel, EBB and designed by Mark Slate. I was going to get a fat type II to go with it too.

Another option is to replace the Salsa with something ti.

And another option is two estays I have my eye on, well one really. Been on the wish list for a while.

you done anything with that bigfoot that you got chief ?

I was shafted on the Bigfoot, think I may have been gazzumped. Ebay paid me back though.

those fats are overrated anyway- on-one rock :D

Think I would get a geared 29'er at one point to, what's the score with these carbon jobbies if you rap it round a tree are they as resilient and repairable as a steel ride?

On the look out for a modern (ish) xc machine, kind of like the orange sub type thing.

That Van Nic is a bargain, wish I was flush just now, You could do a whole Ti bike for about 1200 if you kitted it out with sale items just now.

About 5 year ago my tame wheel building friend at work bought a Ti Audax frame direct from the Chinese factory to his own specification for £350

He said it was straight forward and painless. Thus we're probably being ripped off big time even with the majorly discounted stuff we get in the shops.

A nicer (IMO) ti bargain is the voodoo d'jab, complete bike from halfords for£1500. Keep an eye out for sales as its went for a grand in the past.

Just got back after a couple of nights in Glen Etive :D
Tuesday night was -3 and Wednesday night was -7 :( .Ground has been frozen since October and it was horrendous.Even double bagged it was bloody freezing despite foilbacked rollmat+airbed between me and the ground.
Time to invest in a serious winter sleeping bag and maybe a thermorest or something like that.
Im just too old these days :(
