Just been "remanufacturing" a couple of repair plates for kitchen doors supplied from the Far East, beyond Musselburgh , because the quality of construction was so poor :evil:

I finally finished the Klunker rebuild last night (late). I hope to god i don't get many rear puntures as removing the drum braked wheels is a right PITA. I have yet to ride it but i'm pleased with the way it looks now. It probably doesn't ride as well as it did as the weight is up from 35lbs to a shade over 50lbs now, but it is now 100% authentic, which to me is far more important.
Although when it had cantis and alloy rims it was still a proper Klunker, it was more the type of bike that the Marin guys were using in 80-81 when better options were available. This bike now represents the earlier period of around 74-75 when Fisher first fitted gears- the first true 'mountain bikes' rather than the stripped down 'bombers' of the previous year.
Really looking forward to riding it at Thetford next weekend.

So is that cable drums front and rear or a coaster rear ?, has it still got a rear mech with the drum ?

Going to be re-doing mine soon to make it a bit more useable.
