And today I did......

Aye Rob, was a barsteward of a head wind today....

We had that too. Went for a wee ride up to Loch Duntelchaig, so there was that barsteward headwind just in case we thought the 850' climb was too easy.

Fortunately the rain stopped us overheating. :)

Only two guesses?

I reckon you'd put weight on. Modern tyres are generally bigger and tougher than retro ones.

THM takes it. 8)
Nearly a kilo lost going from Nokian Hakkapellita and thick tubes to new fangled 650B WTB BeeLine tyres and normal Schwalbe 650 tubes.
Not that weight loss is an ideal on this bike but looking forward to seeing how it feels with the new rubber. Should be faster rolling as well as lighter.
A couple of pics of how it looks now.

'Actual mountain bike'

Thats the answer i got of a helfrauds mechanic when i jokingly asked why the outer chainring was so small.

He had a beard,so must know what he's talking about.

On-One is coming on a bit :) Still the elusive cranks. Just picking up the lock on grips in the next hour.
Always seems to me when building, that certain parts make it look more complete ,despite being a minor bit :? Grips for instance. Bike looks completely naked and unusable without them.
A bit like a seatpost. Complete except for it, and it looks almost like its only 1/2 done.

Specced with the ultimate in vanity :D and jamminess :D

Nice, is that a custom piece or is it luck?
And I think it would be Andiness not jaminess ;)

Looking very good by the way :)
