And today I did......

Re:

Figuring that my forks were just not radioactive enough,

I finally got around to doing something about it. Took 'em off, quick rub down, and lots of fluorescent paint later,

And lacquered

Just need to leave them around three months to dry now!

took a wander up to the LBS this afternoon for some parts to finish the new beastie, came away with a pair of nice XT ice tech 6 bolt rotors in 180 and 203 flavour, and all done in warm sunshine too!

Re:

Went for a ride round Blairadam today to remember it when it's dry, just in case it turns tae glaur with the forecast rain.
Somebody had posted on TrailScotland last week about work being done to forest road at bottom of Renthal Run and Chocslide.

Checked it out and they are regrading that whole road there from junction on climb to top to way beyond where the trails come out on to it.

There's been a lot of big hardcore, about 6" plus in size, used with normal smaller hardcore on top. The ditches at side of road are much deeper and steeper sided, some must be 3 to 4 feet deep. The exits from the trails have been made more difficult because of this so watch out if not been there for a while. The continuation from where the Chocslide finishes has had a big pipe put in for drainage and hardcore on top. This should help with this bit as it always gets very wet in the winter, at least the water will be able to drain under the trail.

I rode further along past where all the trails come out and they were still working on the old road taking it further east. There must be a reason behind this work being done to significantly upgrade forest road, it's no cheap, it can only be for future felling in there somewhere.
