I suppose the default position for us is to urge caution because we're worried (aye, right) he'll overdo it but the sooner you get back to being active after injury or in Rob's case major :shock: surgery, the better.
It's all right for those folk that don't do much but active oldies :p like Rob, need to keep going, to make sure you can keep going. There's feckin loads of folk way younger than me and Rob that are going to be, ARE, old before their time because they do eff all exercise.

Well im just thinkin' that ive sawn through ten thousand sternums and theres no way youre going to convince me thats a solid mass again this soon.
That type of thing i imagine will take months to knit together to the point it is stronger than before.

You do what the doctor told you and sit on your proverbial arse. Which in layman's terms means that you sit on arse and do what youre told.
Im more than sure they agreed with you about light exercise, but im damn sure they have different concepts to what you take that as.
 
The sternum is not really the issue. A movement would not be catastrophic.

OCP is bang on, you need to keep motoring. The activity accelerates healing.
