Rob, loving the designers head :) is that what keeps you on small wheels ? :)

Sorry I missed that.
No its why I came on RetroBike and not Pink Bike, Single Track or Trail Scotland.

Re:

These days the emphasis is on fat bikes and 29'ers, I ride 26 and rim brakes probably every day.
Don't get me wrong I like variety and freedom of choice and long may it continue.

Re:

26" wheels for me too but that's more of an aesthetics thing. Bikes my size just look daft with the bigger wheels, for the taller gent though I can see them as a good option (and similarly look better aesthetically with a bigger frame).

I'm also normally rigid! Nothing to do with bikes that though

Im waivering on the 29" department :? For a giant like me its a good thing.
Just cant decide on build or buy complete. I'd love to take advantage of the crc type deals on frames and forks.

Re:

i can't talk myself into the full-fat wagon wheels, but i've made a concession and am trying the half-way house that is 27.5

Re:

I'm sure the fountain of knowledge will be along very soon ..................... but you 29'er guy are you saying that 29'ers are physically bigger bikes, like stand over hight for instance?

Re:

Aren't the frames the same size though? And its just the wagon wheels that are different?. I'm tempted to try 29" for it's apparent benefits xc, but it'd mean new wheels, and then what would I do with my stash of 26" tyres???

Anyway, 26" is enough for me, the missus agrees too.. .

I cant believe that, so what happens to the stand over hight and the B/B hight? I would have thought that say the B/B would stay the same hight (approx) and that both ends would have been played around with to compensate the bigger diameter wheels.
