And today I did......

Phoned Williams Powder Coating, one week after my frame (and forks) had arrived there, but it's no oot o the box yet :-(

Maybe in a week, he said. Slight upside is that I will be briefly in Edinburgh from Sunday 28th to Tuesday 30th (AM) so may be able to pick it up myself and convey it home in an overcrowded Ford Focus.

Could be the bonus of some high quality bike packaging if anyone is interested!

Any retro action taking place in that time? I'll have Tufftrax 2 down with me to leave in Edinburgh as my Scotland bike.

Real, can you get down on early saturday? We have a big meet at the west coast (kirroughtree) - I'll be picking up Velo from south edinburgh, probably room for one more in the big red fun bus.

Sounds good, and thanks for the offer, but my diary tells me I'll be recovering from a leaving do AM, then getting the ferry at noon ETA Edinburgh about 8PM.

I'll bring me lights...

i done bugger all today  getting a tattoo tomorrow after work and i'll be working on sunday and from monday i'll be back on the 16+ hours a day until the end of next month :(

mind you..........it'll be a san andreas for me at the end of it

a should really be taking my oldest swimming and doing some lengths myself  almost 19.5 stone now  and it's just the crap i shovel into ma gub......................

Today I touched up (ooo errr...) the rusty bits on Tufftrax 2 using Holts Rover Pageant Mid Blue, which was the closest I could get at the local motor factors.

For the avoidance of doubt, it's not a very close match to 89 Tufftrax Blue, but hey, it's functional. As I was doing this I contemplated doing the touch up in white to get a clouds effect, which at least proves there are still solvents in the paint.

I think Ford Electric Monza Blue is a better match, but unfortunately the tin sitting in front of me right now seems to be the only one in the world.

No cycling today, as the wind has blown a forty knot average solidly since 10am, gusting 60 knots (multiply by 1.2 for mph), F8-9. Sobering discovery from weather stats the other day that the least windy month in 2009 (June) still had an average probability of force 4 or above of 50%!
