Hi all , been out all day doing the rounds ! :xmas-big-grin: Yes if you could get some numbers on the sizes and does any body know what type of material the washers are made of Nylon , P.T.F.E. ?,done the same fix on my Girvin forks and seemed to work well ,so far :?: then if it works i can make as many as we want , O rings i can look into next year . OK time to rap all the presents up now , so i hope you all get what you wished for and have a good one :xmas-wink:

I received a full set of Amp service parts from Brion last week. During our correspondence, he stated that I had the last complete set of service parts. I also purchased a new damper. Like as been said above, Brion confirmed he no longer had access to parts, due to the company being brought out by someone else. Saying that, he must have an odd spare part or two??

HI, if you have new parts , can you measure the thickness of the plastic washers and what are they made of Nylon or P.T.F.E. and the O ring that sits under the washer is that a 1mm X 8mm id. also what is included in a service kit ??? happy holidays and all the best . :xmas-big-grin:

The kit contains, amongst much else:
4 off Nylon Washers 13mm O/D, 8mm I/D 0.9mm thk
3 off Nylon Washers 12.5mm O/D, 9.5mm I/D 0.8mm thk

the O Rings are the size you described. (although there are others, as can be seen in the photo)

HI ,thanks for that ,great picture ,all O rings are easy to get hold of , sheet Nylon should be able to get hold of , the aluminium screws could be a pain , the top hat bushes could also be a pain , i would think all these parts are needed to service the fork , i take it the square O rings and the other two O rings top left are for the damper ? is the slit clamp just Aluminium , i've got one very similar to this in steel that i made as an Apprentice nearly 40 years ago , shit what am i doing thinking about mountain bikes let alone riding one :facepalm: do the shafts need replacing often ?
i think that covers it , apart from the damper . would it be worth trying to make a set ( not the damper ) may i ask how much the kit coast ? :xmas-wink:

I have never serviced Amp forks, so I'm not sure what is involved. My plan is to carefully disassemble the forks and take notes / photos of how they come apart. I'm hoping all the new parts will replace those items that suffer from wear?

Due to the rarity of these components, I should really take accurate measurements for future re-builds. However, time and incentive may prevent this obvious solution!!

The 8 off parts shown on the left of photograph are for damper re-build. The clamp is aluminium. Out of those parts shown, the 8 off top hat split steel bushes would be the most difficult to source from elsewhere. Regarding the screws, the thread o/d is 6mm although I was unable to screw on an M6 nut? Being American, they may be imperial?

Total cost of the parts shown, including carriage was $160.00

The screws are 1/4" UNF threaded.

On my F2 forks there are no 0-rings, is that correct? Is there anyone who knows all the differences between these forks?

You often see them advertised with the wrong description e.g. F3 instead of F2 etc....

I thunk the f2 forks are held together with circlips so different kit required . I don't remember the o rings being present on a set I had and serviced, but I could be wrong as it was a few years ago now. I do have some f2 spares somewhere.
