Am I so out of touch with modern cycling?

I don’t really mind, just think if someone has made the effort to get out then good for them. I could fit in to all of those categories too. As winter approaches I end up looking more like a tadpole on a bike just because the sort of stuff that keeps you warm/dry/not boiling in the bag mostly are that colour/fit.
Generally I do like to wave or nod at others, depends on the circumstances. Country lane middle of nowhere I’d greet anyone capable of saying hello back. Middle of Cambridge, well I’d get a stiff neck if I even just looked at every cyclist!

Did get me thinking I’m a much nicer person on a bike than in a car. Put me in a metal box with four wheels and I’m suddenly intolerant, impatient and anger quickly. The only sort of waving I’d do then is the special sort you do when people try and undertake you.

The thread started out by someone saying there are different styles of cyclists. It's now moved onto who does or doesn't wave/acknowledge. I thought we'd done this latest topic to death only a few weeks ago
