Am i being unreasonable Ebay P and P

I think you did ok and to penalize him for this is wrong :?

How much does a jiffy bag cost[not talking bulk purchase and thats a red herring so lets leave that part out]
Bus journey to PO
Loss from their original cost[lets face it how many here are happy to lose 28 quid on something newly bought]

Pay
Receive
Leave good feedback, maybe 3 or 4 stars on postage but leave it at that

You have nothing to complain about.

I set my bid limit taking the postage into account. If the item is worth £25 posted and the postage is £8, my bid limit is £17. I don't see any sense in doing anything other than that.

He may be cheating eBay, but that isn't your problem. eBay and PayPal are gigantic rip-offs that make vast profits and are sustained only by their monopolistic position, so I don't see any cause to feel sorry about whether they are losing out.

Yep, my position, first check the postage knowing full well the start bid is not that attractive if the postage is through the roof, I am the same as Anthony here take the postage first then work out my bid.

But I have come across skanksters that say one thing in the official postage and packing then say somewhere down the page within the descrription that they are charging x amount extra due to whatever. These people cannot win for doing that as ebay takes that kind of thing badly, and I love reporting them, as scrotes like that are ruining the service for others.

oooh you are a harsh lot, item paid for, and an apologising message sent for quibbling you are right i did see the p and p, and i did try to get this reduced, i also knew that the high cost was putting people off bidding too and it was this reasoning played a part in my bidding , thank you judge judies,

I will now sleep soundly and postive feedback will be left if the pedals are as described, though i might leave only 1 star for p and p ;) ;)

give him pos feedback but a poor comment about postage cost.

I did that once........the seller then left me neutral feedback with a big ***AVOID*** comment. Buggered my % feedback for a while

You missed the first line off from my quote and made me look like a grump

I dont think sellers can harm your % now, unless they stitch you up on another sale of your own :(

WD :D

Postage is a bit OTT, but no doubt put off a fair few bidders

I always work out the combined total and see that as the purchase price, some of the silly P and P items turn out to be great value

I think you got a fair deal, so I would give feedback on that basis.

You pay less fees if you offload the price onto the postage.

He is passing on that saving to you really.

To me it is a fair enough way to reduce one's exposure to things going for peanuts, as long as you clearly state the postage cost.

After all, it is eBay who are really being diddled. Am I bothered?

Incidentally, why the picture of the Judge Judy episode 'Invisible Circus Freak Man V Invisible Sideshow Freak Man, The Verdict, The World's Largest Invisible Testicles'?

I've done this a few times , bid on a item last minute and not taken notice of the P & P charges later ,, however in this case I think you still got a good deal even with the hight P & P charges.. ;)

I did think however ebay was suppose to have been stopping this sort of thing.. ?

I'd just leave low rating for the P & P bit.. ;) and leave as is.. learn from experience.. :) ;)

You can't complain really can you? ;)

I'm fairly sure most people look at a purchase as a complete package including shipping...and bid accordingly.

Per eBay's buying rules it's your job to read and understand the listing which includes the shipping costs....pay the piper. If you thought it was too much you should have reported it to eBay before bidding (not that they'd ever do anything about it).
