Am i being unreasonable Ebay P and P

That postage charge is unreasonable.... But it was advertised, you agreed to bid, you accepted it
I wouldn't be happy, but I know I'd have to live with it, overall price not bad, just lump it all together and be happier :)

The low selling cost was probably related to the high postage. He made it clear in the auction so I personally don't think you have any option but to pay the man.

I don't like the idea of making money off the postage costs, but they are printed there for all to see and you didn't have to bid

Sorry, don't mean to be harsh but the selling price would be influenced by the postage costs. Even if he'd put much lower postage, it would probably have just sold for more

give him pos feedback but a poor comment about postage cost.

I did that once........the seller then left me neutral feedback with a big ***AVOID*** comment. Buggered my % feedback for a while

:? There around £30 pedals.. I've got some blue ones,

(Limited edition mind)

For what they are, I say shush and take it, depending on how fast he posts, It can be £7 anyways.. and there not too light as pedals go... so weight is a factor

You saw the P&P charges, then bid- I don't really see what you can be unhappy about.

The same with me, you knew the price and bidded, so by bidding you are in effect agreeing to pay the asked for postage and packing.

And as to retaliating by leaving feedback that is not quite right, is that fair, for the seller has done nothing wrong, why should he get a less than favourable report just because he has denied to cave in to your wishes after the fact.

Furthermore what does postage and packing entail, a scabby pre used card board box and a bit of bog roll for packaging or a trip on public transport to post, no one knows why costs exist as they do for sellers, when it is a casual seller is probably oly in it for pocket change and stuff going to another user rather than the bin.

You bid and won, so do the decent thing and chalk it up to experience and a lesson to look and understand next time.

He laid out the contract terms. You accepted these terms.
Now you don't like it.

Man up and maintain your side of the bargain.

Isn't offloading the cost of an item on to it's P&P against the terms and conditions of Ebay?

Yes.. AND the seller has admitted that he bumped the charges to make up for any shortfall in final price.

Personally, I would just pay BUT if you feel like being bloody minded you could report him to ebay for breach of their rules and see where that gets you.

Under a tenner delivered for pedals ain't so bad though lad . . ;)

You can also argue that P&P includes
1) Time spent packing
2) Time spent in queue at post office

Of course if it's sent second class in a recycled cardboard parcel, then I'd be unhappy....

But TBH Ebay isn't about mates rates.

You have nothing to complain about.

I set my bid limit taking the postage into account. If the item is worth £25 posted and the postage is £8, my bid limit is £17. I don't see any sense in doing anything other than that.

He may be cheating eBay, but that isn't your problem. eBay and PayPal are gigantic rip-offs that make vast profits and are sustained only by their monopolistic position, so I don't see any cause to feel sorry about whether they are losing out.
