AHEAD Shim

Can anyone help. I need a 1" to 1 1/8 shim for fork column, so as to fit a Deda Ahead stem. The stem I have is new from Ribble cycles. It cost me £36 and according to Dedas own instructions should have a shim provided in the package for this purpose. Ribble cycles are not interested after sale, all they say is they don't supply them anymore, think this could be a consumer rights thing if I wanted it to be.
But if I can get a shim then I will let it lie.

This may help may not... a trick from BITD.... if you have a spare 1&1/8th steerer or a knackered one, chop off the length you need, then cut a slot longways. my LBS did this for me BITD and it worked a treat.
