Spot on.

I need to fit some bits this weekend so I can forget about these issues!

Cool, much nicer than the pink one.

I like the red flip flop too, definitely not too much.

Re:

^Git!^ I've learnt a lot about flip flop (stems) from this thread, don't actually own one though.

Just as an aside, I got a really, really stuck seatpost out of a frame this morning.....pheeewww.

What was your method chap?

I made this "thing" at work a while back. It's basically a block of steel with two bent pieces of steel bar welded to it to act as saddle rails. I remove the saddle and bolt this block in its place then flip the thing over and put the block in the vice. I can now wiggle the frame (carefully) whilst the seatpost is rock solid.

It's not foolproof and requires a certain amount of feel and help with the plus-gas as the top of most seatposts is only usually bonded. Also it obviously needs a complete seatpost but on the plus side, the frame is now in the perfect position to get some penetrating oil in and leave it to work.

I've got two really stuck seatposts out with it now, both of which have been in Orbit frames!

I'm not the best at describing things, can take a picture of the "thing" if you like.

If I'd broke the seatpost off then this thread would have been my first stop for the dissolving method, been there with the hacksaw blade method, not fun!

Re:

Hacksaw method works but is tedious.. recommend the caustic sofa over it.

Your method sounds great. Remember dendy doing similar on his kili. Welded a long steel bar to his seatpost rails to leverage it out. Ive done the same on a battered seat but bent it to beyond use. Plus gas soaking a lot before helps.

Good work. Please for you!
