Fair enough, I personally think he deserves the treatment, should have detained him though as he's likely to have stolen property somewhere too.

There are two crimes here.

The far lesser one is attempted theft of a bicycle.

I would be interested to know what actually happened after this incident. The victim seems to have a very good case against his assailant.

Red mist or not, you cannot go throwing punches at someone's face unless they are posing a threat to you or someone unable to defend themselves.

If the Police did it do you think they would get away with it, given the video evidence?

The guy carrying out the assault in this video has a problem.

Someone tried to steal his bicycle.

I am sure the same guy would be dragging someone out of a car for cutting him up, this is a violent man waiting for an opportunity.

He had plenty of opportunity to get a hold of himself before the last punch he threw.

I intervened in a similar situation recently, one of my friends was using excessive force to illegally detain someone. Luckily they listened to me, and saved themselves from a criminal record.

I am sure most people would react the same on finding someone attempting to steal there bike on them i certainly wouldnt walk away i dont think not liek your going to shake his hand and say its alright mate your caught get lost, what i did find funny about it though is the fact the thief had a helmet i dout he was nicking that aswell

He deserves everything he got and a bit more............people like that do not learn from getting a slapped wrist and a fine that they cant pay....they learn by pain :twisted: period.

As above,it is a shame the helmet got in the way of his face...........he was planning a bike theft and as such took a helmet along :shock:
When the law forces are a joke people like the owner above get fed up and take things into their own hands,if you think that this is unacceptable then take a look at society and ask yourself why this behaviour is neccesary

I used to ride despatch, and have had had a few bikes stolen, and prevented a few thefts as well.

If anyone is seriously suggesting they are going to beat someone up for attempting to steal their bike then I am sorry, you need to grow up.

The guys doing the beating looked a bit on the dodgy side themselves :? very very aggressive.

Them guys did look a bit dodgy but they may have had their bike stolen before and the law enforcemnet probably dissapointed them :roll:
