'98 GT Lobo v 2012 GT Fury

good video that talking about the differences etc,the guy riding the lobo said that the ride wasnt "that bad, compared to the bikes hes used to riding now"

the lobo maybe another classic gt design and proves that a good design will always be a good design!!

Quite a nice look at the two bikes and the differences that have occured over the years of development. However, Doddy (Barneyballbags favourite!) from MBUK pretty much pans the Lobo in all respects other than the Boxxer 151 looking nice .

The Lobo was borrowed apparently, anyone from here maybe?

Dan

Doddy in "I don't like it because it's not fashionable" shocker...

boxxer 151??? boxxer pro......
skinsuits and bullet head..............not cool bitd...........still not cool! thank god for Sean Palmer!!!!!!!!!!!!

14 years on and GT is the "the carbon DH bike" again

I'd have a Lobo any day over that Fury thing, real American quality rather than Taiwanese c**p! I bet there won't be any of them knocking about in 12-13 years time or perhaps even 3-4 for another MBUK comparison

Bought the mag, PDF here : http://www.sendspace.com/file/32ee39

Most interesting part is the dimensions and angles. Can't help but feel if it was a different type of review (oldschool) they would have said much more favourable things

Fit low bars, short stem and just hang off the back, instant 2012 bike :p

Can you honestly imagine one of the 'leading' mountain bike magazines in the uk coming up with anything else? Theres no way on earth that they are going to or even be allowed to publish an article suggesting that a bike that's 12 years old is better than what gt or anybody else are producing now. Can't imagine gt would be too happy about it either if they panned their 4k plus flagship model!

You get my vote, but wait to see the crap that you can find at German newsstands! "Kult pur! Trend 2012! Was man unbedingt in der neuen Saison am Rad haben muss!" If you think this has nothing to do with NOS M900 prices, you are very wrong! ;)

Does anyone seriously believe that the old bike is better than the new one in any meaningful way?

As for the Doddy bashing, the guy's a true enthusiast -- if it wasn't for him you wouldn't be seeing that Lobo in MBUK at all...

I have to agree here, it's all well and good that we appreciate the older stuff and keep it alive, but putting it on a pedestal and slating anyone who dares to suggest that it has been improved upon is totally unproductive and rather unrealistic. :D
