All I can say is a big thank you to jimihendrix for re-igniting my passion in Zaskar's, I think it's the size of that beauty that's flicked the switch!

I will head off into to the cellar and see what can be accomplished, I may be some days.......

WOW :shock: , you are welcome, very flattered to have influenced someone, the bike was pretty much thrown together, has changed a bit since the pics, now has White Industries cranks a Syncros stem and smaller 2.1 tyres (2.3 and 2.2 in the pics).

I agree that the 16" does look good with the sloping top tube, got the frame last year to replace the one i bought new and sold back in the 90's.

Not the best looking but probably the cheapest (total spend so far £62 !!).
94 Zaskar bought from Bumblebee Auctions.

I used Autosol polish with cheap Tescos dusters and toothbrushes (and a lot
of elbow grease). Find this more satisfying than resorting to powertools and
you can also get to know all the scratches and dings as you go and check for
cracks.

Just got it on the road yesterday with mixture of existing parts, some off other
bikes (nothing fancy) and new set of cables and chain.

Lots of lovely Zaskars on the site, spoilt for ideas. Now off to have some fun riding it while I plan to build up to a decent retro spec in slow time.

Ok, so I've had some problems in the last 24hrs with a Shimano freehub (8sp) preventing me from finishing my Zaskar build, so today I cheated and put a 7sp casette on, just for the purposes of the photoshoot (below)

Basically the build has been a mix of parts that I've just amassed throught the last 8 months on here and ebay, and parts that have been included in with other things/bikes I've bought

A bit of a hotch-potch build, but that's exactly what I was after as it's going to be used, and user HARD!!!

Mmmm Me Like ! Nice build.

That's the sort of thing I'm going to be aiming for with mine. My frame is well used but solid with a few scratches and dings so it's pointless trying to make it look all new. Your's looks pretty but 'lived in'.

I like the yellow/black/shiny look as well, mine is a 94 and I thought the decals and colours that year were a little dull (sorry chaps if you've got one). I've toyed with various other look but keep coming back to this classic GT colour scheme.
