40’s Schwinn DX klunker Build?

Moved this one on to my buddy that really wanted it. This is what he came up with, I think it looks great.

I was excited about this saddle until I flip it over to see this

After an hour with the angle grinder. Needless to say a new clamp needs to be sourced would appreciate any help steering me in the right direction

Can anyone shed some light on what saddle this may be?

Donor bike bottom bracket was like new, so win there. Put it’s crankset on as well to aee. Buddy gave me stem bars tires and wheel back from the CCM as he changed them out

I think you just need the flat plate style clamp, should be available online, maybe search vintage bike seat clamp

Yes I think you nailed it. From what was left of the original I'd guess it may have looked like that. Any idea on saddle make or origin?

Was it on the Schwinn? It has some distinctive steel plates on the side, I'm only guessing, but maybe Messinger?

Troxel? I’ve seen them with the side clips to clamp the upholstery and with the same style of springs, but never both on the same saddle. Looks like late 1930s-early 40s?

Found this one listed on the Bay. Safe to say it’s a Troxel. I think I’m going to recover it with leather. Should I add padding?
