26" Tan/Amber Wall Tires?

No idea. But at that price you can’t expect much. .. Pretty hefty, but perfect for a pub bike or road/cycle path use if you wanted to save wearing down your proper knobblies!

Haven’t read all of the posts sorry, but in case no one has mentioned then you can try Maxxis DTH urban, they look really smart but maybe not so retro
and of course there are Billy bonkers (do these even come in two tones of tan??).
You can also get smart Sam in tan wall but maybe not in 26”?
Did they also do the DMR moto in tanwall?

Specialized do currently sell Tan wall Ground Controls but only for 29 inch wheels. And good luck getting hold of any....

@Dr Dremel @ladkii

I decided to reach out to Ritchey and float the idea for a repro MegaBite in 26", nothing to loose right?

Not sure whether to get my hopes up but a nice fellow named Adam Leibow was kind enough to provide this reply:

"Thanks for writing in and for the suggestion. I think bringing back the WCS Megabite 26” x 2.0 tire in a tanwall would be cool. I’ll share the idea around the office and try to get a read on stoke level. It’s tough because there are so many tanwall gravel/MTB tire options out there; it could be a saturated market, but having a Ritchey option would be special."

I replied to him as follows:

"Thanks so much for your prompt reply and for even considering a repro WCS MegaBite.

Thing is there’s actually very few tan or amber wall options in the 26” size. I did a lot of searching and big companies that offer MTB/gravel tires such as Specialized, Michelin and Continental may have some amber or tan wall offerings but only in more current wheel sizes and no options in 26”. Not to say there aren’t options but slim pickens.

I started a thread on the subject a couple days ago and there been a lot of back and forth with some modern lesser known brands being suggested, the Panaracer Smoke/Dart combo is the most common go to for vintage restorations other than very expensive NOS tires from back in the day.

Here’s a link if you have an interest

On page 2 “Dr Dremel” lamented “it’s a shame, I wish Ritchey (and others) would make a skinwall again”

Who knows? I've got fingers crossed on both hands currently 🤔

I'll post an update when I receive a reply

Really appreciate that you did not do what I did for long time, that is complaining and nothing else 😫
Although I agree it is too early to celebrate, it is a really nice answer from customer service.
In my humble opinion the Megabites were just the perfect allrounder tires and I think Ritchey already did repros a few years back? Anyway, fingers firmly crossed for this effort!

Bad news from Adam at Ritchey:

"Thanks for the additional info and clarifying that the request is for 26” specifically. To be honest, I doubt we’d offer a new 26” tire but agree it is neat and would have its place."

Oh well, worth a try, maybe I should contact Specialized next?
