Wanted 26.4mm seatpost & 1 1/8 unthreaded Marin fork

frye

Retro Newbie
Hi everyone !

I recently got my hands on two nice Marin frames (a few pics attached) :
Marin Team Issue 1992 (with the rather strange serial number) in original condition, with a few spots of rust (but a seized BB :( ).
Marin Team 1993 (M23**** serial number) that was repainted.

Therefore, I'm looking for :

- 26.4mm straight (ideally) seatpost, with about 20 cm above insert limit at least. Original marin seatposts are nice, even if they aren't straight.
- 1 1/8 unthreaded fork, ideally a Marin Rockstars with 220mm+ steerer length. I know that 1992/93 marin forks were 1 1/8 threaded but I'd prefer rebuilding aheadset

Thank you for your help !
Cheers

P.S. : This is my first ever post on Retrobike, so feel free to tell me if I'm doing it all wrong ;)

You will probably want some layback on that post, as the frames geometry was designed for it. Otherwise you will be too far over the crank o you will be pushing the seat right back on the rails to compensate.

St john street cycles has kalloy posts if nobody can help you with a marin one. I got one for my pine mountain a couple of years back.
