The Brahma was the first thing to get ditched from my 92 Apex. Too narrow between the controls.
Good work, the frame/paint look flawless.

Have you got grips for the Brahma bars? I've got a set of bars but I've never been sure what grips to use. I'm tempted to just go with bar tape.

I am going to try spongey touring bike style long grips first, the chances of finding original rubber ones in any kind of usable condition are slim, plus they weren't very practical not easy to apply/remove. I think the OEM position of the brifters was too close to the centre so will try with them further out than stock

A Diamond Back Axis was my first proper ATB in 88 .
I was young and had my head turned by the paintwork ,I wish someone had warned me about the U-brake

that one is in lovely condition - especially groupset - regardless of whether it has u brake or not its a very tidy example for sure . I do really like the smokey paint finish on those too.

Tyres arrived today ( tyres not tires!) - managed to get the ones that have the 'plain' logo without the word 'classic' added (as I have some of the latter and they don't have the desired OEM appearance).



I took the opportunity to clean the rims up as best I can though there is fat chance of finding any replacement rim decals; I am in 2 minds whether to peel them off or leave 'em

Must be a labeling error, the package says "Tire" for some inconceivable reason
