1999 Schwinn Homegrown Elite

The 22mm rear mount caliper is actually quite rare. I remember everybody hating on this mounting standard, fast forward to now and look at the road bike direct disc mounts now: they're virtually identical!
here's a pic of my 2001 Homegrown (changed the tires to green Michelins so its even more garish now! weighs in at 21lbs though)

"with a Thomson Elite stem could be perfect :)"
I know black components would be color-wise perfect, but the stem is a super rare Sweet Parts stem and it matches the Sweet Wings cranks.
The brakes and levers are Avid Arch Rival Ultimates now.

It is a pity that the original titec seatpost is AWOL on mine. it appears that a use suspension type thingy has replaced it,

Well it's finally up and running, not without a few problems though: I couldn't find a nice lightweight rear wheel so a heavy old set of Hope Bulb hubbed rims have been fitted. Despite wanting to use original parts the Titec Bars had some odd corrosion and in any case where pretty heavy so they haven't made the cut. The right LX shifter wouldn't shift so that has been replaced - temporarily I hope.
I couldn't find any Salsa Cromotos so a set of On one forks are currently in place. Photos when the camera battery has charged.

I had forgotten all about this thread.

Any way there have been a few changes: Raceface Cranks, Mavic 717s on Hope XC and those subtle tyres!

The Halos in fact seem to be exactly what I am looking for: a bit of volume to provide some cushioning from the rough stuff yet they can take a very high inflation pressure - 85 psi so they roll nicely on the road.
