1997 Kona Explosif Frame Gold - Lost in post with My Hermes.

Re: 1997 Kona Explosif Frame - Lost in post with My Hermes.

That sucks, sorry to hear that.

Never had any issues with them, until last couple of months, parcels have ended up all over the country, usually opposite ends to where they are meant to be. One was lost but did actually turn up in the end. For expensive items i still prefer RM, they have lost quite a few parcels over the years but their compensation is pretty good,

Re:

I've always covered the value of the items I post. Had a few rm issues and decided that it was worth paying the extra £ to ensure that if lost, I'd not be out of pocket. I also think that the item description is a flag for someone unscrupulous to decide if something is worth stealing/losing so tend to use a generic term to hide what's inside.

I hope your frame surfaces.

Re: 1997 Kona Explosif Frame - Lost in post with My Hermes.

I don't think it will surface unless it goes on the usual sales and auction sites so can we all keep an eye out for it please. I've been checking Ebay and Shpock every morning whilst drinking my coffee. Iv'e found out that apparently My Hermes bundle all of their 'Lost Parcels' up together and send them off to auction houses. This may not be true however as I found it on the internet somewhere.

I'm not expecting to see the frame again, shame.

Canada post is the same. It's a joke. We pay for a service then get extorted to pay that they complete the service we've paid for. Sounds like the mafia to me. Law needs to change.
Hope you find it. I like the idea of reporting it stolen. Be nice if we had a lawyer on here that could write something pointed on letterhead. Might help make the parcel miraculously appear.

Re:

I've never used my hermes as a seller. Had deliveries from them left on the front step when I've been in. Sounds like this is common practice. Local RM postie does it too but hes been the same chap for the last 6 years and we know him well. To the extent that we're happy for him to drop parcels inside the front door. But I do live on a farm in the middle of nowhere with cctv cameras all over (just in case!)

The worst experience for us was using UPS to send a snowboard from one side of France (Charente) to the other side of France (Morzine) 2 weeks before our snowboarding holiday. Both myself and my other half are fanatical snowboarders and have been for nearly 20 years so our kit is decent and setup up specifically for our riding style. When we arrived in Morzine there was no snowboard. Upon contacting UPS they said it was on route and should be there the following day. The following day, no snowboard. Tracking information said it has gone to Andorra. Anyway, long story short we eventually got the snowboard back 2 months later with tracking that traced it through America, Canada, France, Switzerland, Germany and eventually back to France and its original destination. The originally very well packed snowboard was no longer very well packed, had numerous scratches on it and damage to the base and a crack in one of the bindings. Looking at this it was obvious that someone had found out what was in the package by opening it and decided to take it on a snowboarding holiday themselves. Suffice to say my other half was very very angry about it as her previously pristine Daniel Franck limited edition board has now been trashed with no apology, offer of compensation or replacement (not that that was possible due to the "limited edition" bit). We won't use UPS ever again.

Or my Hermes after reading this and other issues.

Re: 1997 Kona Explosif Frame - Lost in post with My Hermes.

I would report it to the police and then send the crime reference number to the CEO etc via the email links provided earlier. These guys all have teams to investigate escalated cases. It may not get your frame back but they will look into it more thoroughly and you will have the pleasure of being bloody minded.

Re: 1997 Kona Explosif Frame - Lost in post with My Hermes.

Hermes have lost so many parcels that were sent to me by sellers on eBay, that I now message sellers prior to purchasing from them to ensure they aren't a Hermes user. If they are, I don't buy from them. They are spectacularly useless in my experience.

I did this and the police can't help. They stated what I know already, My Hermes have done exactly what they should have, they picked up the item and paid me the base level compensation.

They suggested I go to the Financial Ombudsman or Trading Standards.

And we all know what a waste of time that will be.

Absolutely happy to keep an eye out for this :)

Out of interest do you have any indication on the tracking where the tracking may have gone cold? Might help localise the search...
