I seem to remember reading somewhere on here that some years rockhoppers did take 73 mm bottom brackets. Possibly also stumpies. My hardrock is the same as the OPs and takes 68mm.

My 1998 RockHopper and 1996 Stumpies take 73mm BBs. The 1994 and 1996 HardRocks I have both take 68mm.

Hi, a bit late to this but I've just inherited a GSX which looks exactly the same as yours. First thing I need to sort out is the headset.

I've had to order a 32mm headset spanner and am waiting for that to arrive. In the meantime I stumbled across this thread.

Could you let me know what headset you ordered?
