1994 mountain cycle san andreas - update 28th april

got to love the postman..........almost all my parts are here, just waiting on my chain.

going to have a look at sticking it together best i can over the next couple of days, maybe have it rolling for the weekend.

mixture of retro/modern once again, but not extreme like bumblebee, and i will change/swap bits over to suit the bike and myself once its running.

pics and updates tomorrow then hopefully. just going to pop to the LBS in the morning to maybe get a new BB as the one i bought may not be wide enough, crank arms need clearance

:D getting there folks.........

waiting on a BB tool to fit the BB then get the cranks on, chain is in the post, then stick some gear cables in.

only set back so far is the forks........didnt check the steerer length and have found its too short!!!!

i need a 200m steerer and these are 180mm :( so looking for new forks.

Looking good fella,.. noted the steerer is short,, why dont you buy a extender fella.. ? cheaper... I hope you did not bang that beautiful headset in with a block of wood btw.. ;)..

extender? how do they work?

nah, was in LBS today working out BB widths and they done it!

have you been practising your double jointed front mech techniques? will be coming up yours soon

Just out of interest, what size bottom bracket did you end up with for the sensible one?

I had to put a 112 in my Sandy to stop the cranks clouting the swinger. :(

i bought a 110mm thinking it would be fine, didnt even fit it once i looked at it in the flesh, those meaty swingarms are thick.

got a 118mm to go in once my BB tool arrives.

There was some posts about replacing bomber steerers.
