1994 GT Zaskar Aqua: new pics on page 9

Re:

@therealjason: noo, square taper and 94pcd/5arm that's old school ;)

@smithjss70: thanks but I don't think they would suit this build. I'm considering buying xt m735 cranks (I've got a 170mm set on my diamondback) get them anodised in black and fit FSA self extracting bolts, giving them a sorta retromod look

Y'know, you could chuck any old junk parts on that frame and it would still look ace - best colour by far, may even invest in one myself sometime (once I've got over my current project! )

I agree with you there, it's nice not having to polish it too :)

Re:

cheers guys;

The only criticism I have with the colour is IMO it really doesn't suit silver parts, hence the reason I'm building it with as much black as possible. Of course though most of the kit available in the first half of the 90s was silver (shimano mechs cranks cantis etc) which is making the search of parts for this build a bit more difficult.

imo, silver looks better :)
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree :D

I built it up with silver parts first time round and I didn't like it, the black enhances the turquoise so much more.
My camera didn't like it either, too much light reflection and not enough exposure made the pictures blurry and put the colour off... and I was using a Nikon DSLR ;)

I found this scan in my pinkbike albums today, its interesting to see how the bike looked in the catalogue. the only parts I have from the original groupset though is the XT m737 hubs ...i did have the canti's as well but they've been replaced with V's

Oh, and where has member cherrybomb gone? :LOL:
