Fixing flats is one of those weird experiences that I always enjoy. Nobody wants a flat but finding a nice spot and setting to work, it's very rewarding when you put that final pump of air in and replace the cap. If anything it makes the trip even more of an adventure and it applies equally to any trail side maintenance issues that you successfully remedy with simple tools and experience.
