Most brakes of my era and after are designed for the outer cable only without any ferrule.

Will have a look and see if I have any. If you decide those tyres don't suit, I'd happily give them a new home

Nope, the aduster in the calliper simply takes care of the cable

That's helpful mate. So just got some lovely bar tape to put on and a 26.6 seatpost to source then. Oh, and shoeplates to get also! That should be the easy bit

Mike, I've had a look but can't find any stepped ferrules in that size

As Shaun says though, you don't really need them!

Bar tape arrived today, courtesy of one very generous maca , so I just need to find a seatpost now for a full bike. 26.6 if any of you have a spare

Bit closer now,

Tape done, bit of a bugger going around the brake hoods, they're not is soft as Shimano ones, but got there in the end.



Also cabled up, and chain on,



Ended up using some -cough- Shimano shifters :shock: Well they work well and index perfectly



I know the choice will upset the purists, but it works, and that's the most important thing

Not bad looking so far I think,



So, just waiting for the seatpost which is on it's way, cable ends to sort out, front q/r skewer to cut down and rims to clean the brake pads off, that I forgot about :facepalm:
