After checking out the frame as the headtube was sticking out the box that was upside down when parcelforce delivered it ......but all seems to be good nic and as a little bonus I don't think this is ever been built up there are no clamp marks on the rear dropouts from a quick release, the fork is still in primer and the bottom bracket is clean as a whistle..... It's just covered in marks and dust, Is it possible this could be new old stock!
Been T-cut polishing this morning, we have a lot of 'Stick it over there' chips and scratches that will need touching up, think I need some sort of colour filler if there is such a thing
I have been advised this is most probably the original factory colour, probably ordered this way and the 'only original once' has already been mentioned scaring me that theyre holding a stick with barbed wire wrapped around it whilst saying it .......
After a little bit of deliberation on what to do with the paint I decided to give it a good t-cut & polish it's come out pretty good
It's very evident that this is not going to be perfect paint but if it's going to stay this colour the fork needs a colour. It has been suggested that I go white or silver but I really want to have a go at trying to match the paint up somehow for the fork....... Queue Halfrauds!
Forks were already in primer so I forget I would give it a black undercoat to make sure it came out all little bit darker than the colour on the tin......
5 coats in......That came out so much better than I expected
And Tubing decals arrived yesterday too, I'll get them applied and then a clear coat tomorrow.
