They are Araya RX7's, I've got one of these but my rims are a dark blue finish

I thought they might be RX7's,coz this is a 1990 bike and the ones i've got came off my old red 1990 Lavadome.

The Ebay business splitters are already on it - there's at least one familar ID lurking on there amongst the bidding... TBH I would also have it for the parts, but only if I had something to fit them straight onto

Thinking about it, It would be nice to see at least one of these to remain intact (and this is a good'un, condition/size wise). Go in hard price wise matey, scare off the splitters and good luck :)

Re:

That looks totally original
Hope you succed in getting it
Would be a shame to have it split

Re:

Collection only, north wales, can't see it going high

Only my opinion but these frames are dog, so I'd strip it.

Why are they a dog? If any other brand name was attached to it...!

The estay frames were terrible but I cant see anything on this frame that makes it dog like. My own contemporary Claud Butler 531 Magnum was lugged, heavy and rather bendy. I would describe that as a dog.

Peeps have always loved to knock a Carrera, cos its Halfords 'own brand'... but like for like price, theyve always taken some beating... people who would never buy a Carrera, would never buy a Skoda for the same reasons.... I think these Comps where 500 quid... Halfords flagship at the time, and for a full XT specced bike, and a 531 frame, that offered excellent value... nowt wrong with a Carrera!!

As i said, only my view, but based on owning the purple Waikalo model in this range bitd.

Was fully shit. Frame quality control and alignment were poor. Finishing kit was gash.

Back then I compared it to my Dad and brothers Courier comp and Hardrock. Rode like a turd compared to those 2, and they were only entry level bikes themselves.

The reynolds sticker says "frame tubes" and its accurate, as not all the tubes are 531/501/500, some are 100% gas pipe.

Maybe the Quatrro Comp was a different story - if so, i stand corrected but that's what informs my opinion on these
