Thanks Joe, yep going for a new and clean as poss on this one, so will probably go for a brooks, maybe a new one, maybe a clean one of eBay.

Headset installed, bottom bracket installed, front mech is not the right size but I found an adaptor that seems to have fixed it

Posted a couple of stem photos. The original is not going to make the final cut. I think by 1988 things had moved on, so will have to come up with something.

Got an idea what to get, so lets see if it comes off

Main obstacle now is a pedal stuck in the drive side crank, once I get that out, will install the cranks

I've got a nos set of brakes and shifter to go too, so hopefully on the home straight.

That stem looks pretty gash...

I have a very nice Tioga T-bone 1" stem and matching bars if you are interested
