1988 Bob Jackson Full Campag, finished pics p8

Re: Bob Jackson 1987?

That looks amazing, great colour choice. Really impressed. Well done to them/you.

Re: Bob Jackson 1987?

Thanks (let's be honest, it's them, all I did was give them my 16 digit number!!)

I have pretty much everything I need to build this up to, what I think is a very nice standard.

Only bit really missing is the saddle.

Think about forking out for a nice new brooks, but maybe a rolls is what I need? Views?

Re: Bob Jackson 1987?

I'd date it around 86/87 with that u-brake - and thats the rub with me, u-brakes in UK mud just dont, well, they just dont. Memories come flooding back of absolutely clogged rear brakes and mutterings of great oaths.

Mind you, the clay where I live would ruin that lovely paint job so ignore me while I scrape the cack off

Re:

Indeed, ubrakes, especially under the chain stay are rubbish in mud.

But don't worry this wont get that muddy, maybe dusty.

The other faff with Us, i find, is they are more trouble to get wheels in and out.

Cantis easy win.

But then, whats life without a little variety (try that line on your missus ;) )

Re:

Very very nice, also looks like they are doing a good job in that shop. A brown or honey Saddle would be suitable, in my view. Colt or Regal, sort of like...

Re:

Had to clear out the workshop to find a little part that fell off my fox build. Found it but took about an hour moving stuff around.

One positive was it meant I got the wheels intended for this jacko out from behind untold piles of junk (or retro gold, depending on your state of mind)

Here's a picture

Re: Bob Jackson 1987?

So, I emailed BJ today to say thanks for a good job, and asked them if they knew the age

They did, it was made in May 1988.

Re:

Gonna be a real beauty!

Brooks will look the part for sure. If you want that Rolls back let me know. It's headed for my Avanti otherwise but s'only fair. I'm guessing with the finish on the BJ you'll want something closer to nos/new.
