Re: Bob Jackson 1987?

Despit the rust, it feels nice and solid, so hopefully okay

Going to call Bob Jacksons tomorrow and see what they can do

Need to measure rear wheel spacing, might see if they can cold set it if it's narrow

Re: Bob Jackson 1987?

From some googling that style of Reynolds decal only appeared in 1989, even if the parts suggest older. Perhaps the original buyer built it up with their own older used/NOS parts?

thanks for that insight - would seem to be 89 then despite the parts, geometry wise it looks later 80s rather than mid so its in that neck of the wood

It has a lot of information stamped on the BB - will clean and photo over the weekend.

Re: Bob Jackson 1987?

There was a strange cross-over period between 1986 and 1990 where old met new, new boasted a lot, old didnt like it and went off in a huff. Decal does indeed say later but frame build says 1986 in big loud pastel and oatmeal colours.

Re:

Like that a lot. Bars and stem look similar to an Avanti and definitely more 87 than 89 to me. Could the decal be a red herring? What about fork decals, do they match the Avanti ones?

Re: Bob Jackson 1987?

Rusty numbers probably house number and postcode added for security: 159 N15 3E?

Hopefully someone at Bob Jackson can decypher the other codes.

Could have gone back to the makers for a respray and new decals at some point, people who buy custom often do that.

They're still making frames in the same style so could easily be later:
