1988/9 Overbury's Pioneer

Yes, works pretty well on the bare metal and hasn't affected the paint. I used it on the small parts too and you can see the rust fizzing off
 
Yes I remember seeing that red/black Pioneer for sale and reading the story of the last owner, nice. This is my Pioneer still in original paint - measures 19" to top of seat tube, a tad small for me though, although I can ride it, as you can see by how much USE suspension post I have extended from it. You have to love and Oberbury's though - such a shame they are no more as there would be a market for new ones again today still. 1666382155829.png
 
Some small progress here. The frame has been off to see John the seatpost man and the siezed post has been removed and the tube honed and cleaned up ready for a lovely new deore DX one on its way.

Also replace the rear axle cones with NOS ones that came up from scant the other day and an NOS exage headset for not very much via ebay.

Will probably go in for paint some time over xmas and build it up properly next year.
