Those brake levers are like you'd find on a 1970's trials/Scrambler - a friend had a set Leachy levers which were very similar on his an early Muddy Fox

I’m happy with the Dia-Compe levers as they are original. But I could do with working out what grips they used.
(Failing that I’ll put some black ODI attacks on it) 06A9160F-C293-41C8-BC06-F1FD02FB94C4.jpeg

Is that a new season? Suntour summer just round the corner?

Please can you include more inverted commas on this page. I grew to love them in your chain explanation post and am hooked on the way they speak to me. Just me.

Re: 1984 Claud Butler Canyon. #H130008

<scuffs gravel, kicks a stone, looks down at own feet, mutters> You could have used a period Suntour chain...

...and, and and maybe, put the explanation up first and not be quite so patronising.

<goes off, fettles "proper" gearing with "real" chains and, and and something, something>

Thank God for you two, for a moment I thought this was starting to become too much like a helpful, useful & sensible build thread!

LGF, yes... puts some clothes on today...

THM, it’s ok (I do appreciate you have no marking to do right now)

I going to play with my Mavic Dakar hubs. I dont care.

Dia-Compe Spring, Suntour Summer, Atom Autumn, Weyles Winter

I could go on

Re:

Here you go. 122mm long, 42mm widest. They're on an Overburys now, but came off a green 85 canyon originaly.

Very nice, I don't suppose there are any stamps or text anywhere?

And are they only fixed by the end screw or does the other end have a bolt on collar?
