Seems to be a common thing these days. There was an alloy Kona in need of rescue near me. Seemed ok at £50. He must have had a lot of interest as it went up to £250 pdq.

I have the same model, a 1991 Trek MT 950 in a smaller frame size I paid £50 for, the frame has some bubbling in the paintwork.
We can't see the actual condition of the paintwork in the photo, unfortunately. it's easy to hide because of the dark colour.

I think so. Had a stem raiser and "comfort" saddle. Down at £150 last time I stumbled on the ad and quickly moved on.

Yeah I messaged the chap saying I would like to buy it when it was initially listed for £30, he told me someone was picking it up tomorrow, I said let me know if that falls through for any reason, he said sure! I then saw it listed again for £175! Must have seen a deluge of people and thought he could make more. It's still up last night but now slowly coming back down...

I think it might make the £50 it was up for when I first saw it? Who knows these days?
