Ideal project for somebody looking for a great vintage bike on a budget.

Claud Butler "Avant-coureur special edition". Frame is dated October 1951. 21.5" c to c.

Frame is Reynolds 531 and has the much sort "spear head" lugs and bi-laminated frame construction.

Link to Claud Butler heritage catalogue here....this has the full spec.

Bikes age and model have be verified by Vintage Cycle Clubs Claud Butler Marque Expert......cheers my friend....

The frame appears quite sound, with a few areas of surface rust....tbh, ive seen frames from the 90s in worse condition! The paint is untidy and has been heavily touched up over the years......however it does have its original 3d head badge ( apparently trading for £30 on ebay) and its original seat tube decals.

So either love it as it with its full patina or go full repaint and restoration.

Im not asking silly money, as these with the forks sell for serious dollar.....i would rather it went to a good home and have the money and times it needs.....it will make a stunning bike.

So.......£60 plus postage. NOW £50 Plus post!

Uk mainland postage only. PayPal friends and family please.

Any questions i will try to answer them.....possibly with @Peachy! help.

Cheers

Original paint (black being by far the easiest to tidy up),decals and proper 50's head badge make this very attractive. if it had its original forks it would be worth considerably more. (as Tooty has already pointed out  )

Yes. Sorry long gone. It says sold at the top........but adverts stay up out of interest i assume.

thanks for the reply, I have the Olympic Sprint track version of the same frame and it would have been a perfect stablemate
