Hello, I have a mismatched pair of Northwave Mirage road cycling shoes. The left is 42, while the right is 43. The inner soles' length is 273 and 280 mm. If your left leg is smaller than the right one, or you have size 42, and does not bother that the right one is a bit larger, this is your...

Does anyone remember the original Campag Syncro Gear Levers?

If I remember well, two type of C Record RD exists, the one has adjuster around the mounting bolt, while the other lacks it. In case of there is no adjuster there, you must modify the mounting to minimize the distance between the upper jockey wheel and the sprockets.

Does anyone remember the original Campag Syncro Gear Levers?

Re: I am using Campagnolo Syncro levers nowadays (I don't know if it is the first or the second version), and it works well on my road bike. My rear derailleur is Campagnolo Victory. It wasn't too good at first, but I've modified the derailleur a bit: I've rasped the "bumper" to get the top...

Anybody knows something about Canadian Raleigh bikes?

Hello, I've seen in a local ad a very pretty Raleigh mountain bike frameset. It's headbadge says "The Raleigh", and it is lugged steel and supposed to be built in Canada from 4130 Cr-Mo tubes, as a sticker says. Below is a picture about it. It has hidden rear brake cable and wishbone stay at...

Working limits of a DX short cage mech - advice sought

Hello, I've used 24-36-46 in combination with a 13-30 cassette and a short cage XT derailleur (RD-M735), and it worked well. Just make sure that the chain length is correct.

    Changing big chainring, advice needed!

Hello, The recommendation for the distance between the large chainring and the outer plate of the cage of the front derailleur is 1-3 mm. I prefer the closest, the 1 mm, even closer when it is possible. So, if the derailleur works well and the distance not more than 3 mm, then you have no...

    Changing big chainring, advice needed!

I think that you could leave the chain length as is. One tooth difference (which takes only a half, because the chain wraps around only the half of the chainring) means a half link of the chain, it does not really matter. Check the length of the chain on the largest-largest combo (without the...

    Changing big chainring, advice needed!

The distance between the pins of the chain is 1/2". It means that the circumference of the chainring (measured at the center line of the chain pins) is: 52 * 1/2" = 660.4 mm 53 * 1/2" = 673.1 mm It must be divided by 2* pi to get the half diameters (radius): 105.16 mm 107.18 mm The difference...

    Immovable freewheel?

I've had a similar issue with my old road bike's wheel, I had to remove (unscrew) the sprockets with two chain tool, after I had to disassemble the freewheel mechanism. After that I gripped the remaining base of the freewheel with a very long and sturdy tube plier and successfully screwed off...
