A mate has offered me a front wheel with a Mavic 121 'grey' rim. He isn't sure if it is the Ceramic or CD model. How do I tell? (it has been used with a V Brake and the side of the rim has lost the 'grey' coating if that helps).

Did the seller originally say he would... and charge you the fee for that service on top of the agreed item sale price? Personally I'd have asked for at least Recorded Delivery on an item of any value even if the seller didn't initially offer the service.

After a bit more digging online I found scans of two '98 German GT catalogues that specify the gold colour as 'atomic burst'. All atomic colours (atomic burst, atomic grape, atomic rust etc.) seem to be exclusive to 1998 GTs which confirms my frame is that year, although I cannot find any...
