There's no cut-off age as shown in earlier replies, so keep riding as long as you enjoy it, but if you get to the point where you spend more time in a year recovering from falls than you do in riding it might be time to consider sticking to easier rides :wink:

Some good bikes, any of which I'd be happy to own, but choice comes down to Avanti or Merlin for me, partly because of the "usual suspects" nature of many of the other makes. Let's see more of the lesser known brands.

OMG I never knew there were so many rules regarding what is right or wrong when owning old bikes. Perhaps the mods ought to draw up a set of rules about what's acceptable to help prevent people who just want to enjoy their bikes committing a real faux pas. :roll: :roll: :roll:

This takes all the fun out of looking for local bargains on ebay. I've seen several bikes that have taken my eye, local and collect only, only to find that they've been highlighted on that forum and the bidding shoots up. This may be a coincidence and I'm being selfish and irrational I know...

Am I the only one with some concerns about this thread. If the bikes were given in good faith and the donors thought they were giving to charity then surely the administrators have a responsibility to get the best prices for them. What charity(s) does the money go to? How is this scheme...
