    show us your gt's

Not proud of myself, but it did freely go to a good home (neighbor's) and they are going to ride it with their kid, so all is well! (mostly didn't want to keep it cause of bent u-brake mount, and badly faded paint:

this. Got an XT 9 spd derailleur for like.. US$10 from a redditor last week. It's well over 10 years old and still smooth as baby's butt.

    Voodoo Wanga

^ thanks for the update. I'm looking at an old US-made Wanga (so old it has no disc mounts and wondered on your thread. They're asking for only us$100 for the frame, unfortunately it's the wrong size for me.

Mid 90 Breezer Thunder country of production?

If true, I'm surprised at the bad crackling/flaking/chipping decals. The stickers I had from Tawian in the 90s were TOP NOTCH.

Thanks! I c what u did there with the alphabets. Also, am I counting EIGHTEEN rides in your signature line? I just sold/gave away 4 in the last 2 month to finally bring my brood to below a bakers dozen this year, but it seems like I need to ramp up my restomod garage this winter for '25?

    1991 Marin Team Marin

^ did not know that. Was the Team Marin's original Prestige tubing also triple butted? Cause this Fuji tubed frame is stupidly light.

I just used the word "cockpit" in a post .. and everyone uses "brifters" these days, even the well-aged folks at the local co-op, just like the kids call sandwiches, "sandos".

    '03 Orbea Team XC ?

I didn't think Orbea fully made it into USA via distributors back in '03? I picked this up missing wheelset / cockpit, but the drivetrain is original me thinks. It's full of XTR bits (derailleurs, hubs, brakes, etc.), but the CF handlebar is super iffy, as is the junk stem. But look at that cool...

93 Rockhopper Shimano Cues compatibility advice.

There’s no reason to believe CUES will outlast alivio. I have alivio derailleurs and shifters older than my marriage. My Yamaha e-bike comes with an alivio casette and that’s a 250w mid-drive 25kg bike. If you pair a 34t front with a 11-36 casette you’ll be spinning for days.

    Show us your Specialized

Picked 2 of them up so far this November, the 89 rockhopper (top, obvs) is a beach city rust bucket and has me worried. The ‘98 rockhopper FS (bottom, obvs) will be a kid’s birthday gift next year and I’m excited to build a Taiwan bike for a half Taiwanese rider. Thinking maybe fox forks and...

Pic 1 is gorgeous, but why CUES? And not just a standard Alivio 9 speed? I just got a Rockhopper a couple of years older and I'm just sticking to the standard deore 9 speed bits.

Thanks bud, now I gotta go find a “‘MIT” repro sticker like the ones I used to have on the steel stumpies.

Does anyone know if it’s Japan or Taiwan? And if either, which factory/company? I figure all you erudite folks would know! TIA

    1991 Marin Team Marin

apologies, i was dumb, read that as front "brake" not front derailleur. My team marin uses "Fuji ultralight" triple butted tubing, is the Prestige set suppose to be lighter?

    91 Team Marin...all road tourer?!

my goodness, this subforum has an amazing obsession with Team Marins. I have one as well, but it is not anywhere rebuilt up as lovely as any of yours
