Likely a "generic" fork. Just don't hammer on them too hard and do inspect the welds occasionally for cracks. Also check the bottom of the steerer at the bottom of the crown.
That being said they do look quite nice. Kicking myself for not getting one of the Ti Kona P2 knockoffs when they were...
Thanks, it's a darn good bourbon, just a little bit after a successful fork rebuild. Possibly more if unsuccessful. Work shop is a mess right now... too many projects, which is better than none :)
After rebuild, but still without the top caps and brake adapter.
The Final product, now with Dr Marzocchi's reproduction top caps and disc adapter. Both previously unobtainable.
The worked perfectly and look gorgeous. As does the disc mount adapter. I can't thank you enough. Talk about fortuitous timing! I just had to make sure to bottom out the adjusters, or at least close to bottom out before installing them to get full range. Guessing the 97's (or at least my 97)...
Fun fact: The later production versions of the Super T were called Super T Pro. The Pro was for production. The early 97 and 98's with everything CNC'd outside of the main crown were considered "handmade". The serial on mine starts with a ZT.
After getting the bike home and sourcing parts it...
From 97 to 98 the "Handmade" Pre-Production Super T forks differed frequently in terms of various features.
The 1st gen wrap around arches were available with extensions for canti studs, or as shown on Herin's race photos, those could be deleted.
To further reduce weight the 20mm axle could...
With most new and interesting vintage bike parts I tend to jump down the rabbit hole and research as much as possible. Upon seeing the forks I knew they were something special. Did I mention I really dig Marzocchi forks... If I didn't, just letting you know I do.
So first came the ID, it was...
Agreed, I decided to strip the fork crowns as well. Really interesting as I've never seen crowns like these blasted and painted before, they have always been polished.
No need for tires just yet. Looks like they are skipping the vintage class this year at the Enduro race. I stripped the frame just for fun, and it's hanging in my friends shop along with a few others for storage. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of room for bike storage, I have to keep the herd...
No idea. The frame was repainted at some point, maybe Scott decals were the only one's laying around. The tires are IRC Kujo DH 2.35 DH, and the sidewalls are VERY chalky and dry. Rideable, but I not in great condition.
When I saw the fork, I was stumped. I've been a die hard fan of this fork brand for a few decades and have had a chance to rebuild just about all of the high end offerings from 97 on up.
