Were they oily when you found them (oily like gear cables)? Is there any chafing/polishing on the inside/outside, in axial/radial directions? Have you ever changed the gear cables in the past? Maybe they have been used to add length to the outers? Assuming that you were running V's...

If Bullpup can measure up what he has and sketch out some drawings, it wouldn't take all that much for a hobbyist to make some up for you. Trickiest thing would probably be deciding on what material to use. Nylon, teflon...? Oh, and finding a hobby machinist with a lathe :lol:

+1 on this. But it will probably take a little longer than 15min with a bike frame hanging off the side of a mill. Also, is the bore reamed? i suppose this would be all the way through so the top and bottom are on the same axis?

Would they be ferrels? They look a little small to fit round the outside of the cable outers?
