Little Brass Tubes - Jubilee Pop Quiz !

Were they oily when you found them (oily like gear cables)?
Is there any chafing/polishing on the inside/outside, in axial/radial directions?

Have you ever changed the gear cables in the past?
Maybe they have been used to add length to the outers?

Assuming that you were running V's, maybe they have something to do with the noodles (may explane why there are two)?
I've found noodles with plastic liners and loose ferrels that fall appart when dismantling.

Do your shifters still operate ok? I can imagine it as being a guide from in there. (Again, a pair would match up)

far far too small to be jockey wheel bushes.

has me stumped howver also.

Which is true as they are about the same general size as ferrules (about 7mm long and 5mm or so mm diameter)

They're not just some 'runner/spaghetti tubing type thing' section say in the bottom bracket gear routing. Or the hang doggy things or straddle hanger ? (since it's on a straddle cable?)

Not sure what a 'stock' Kona setup is like.

Some part of the shifter ? similar size to the nipple cable end on them ?

Still no idea as to what these little buggers are. They slide easily over a brake cable so.... one would assume that they are something to do with the brakes.....

They can't be from the canties as there are only two brass tubes. They are not from the rear mech as they are too small and the mech has not been stripped yet.

This is starting to become an obsession.

Hehehehe yeah.. i'm sure... I'm starting to doubt myself however. I think 'our lass' threw them on the floor when i was looking the other way, knowing that i'd spend weeks trying to find out what they were. :)
