I just stripped down a Kona Cinder Cone, during the process I found two little brass tubes on the dining room floor, where the bike was stripped.

They measure 4mm x 2.5mm.

I can't for the life of me remember ever seeing these things on a bike before.

They have to be something to do with the gearing cables due to their size.

Help ?

Thanks

Maybe a picture would make it easier to find out what these are? sounds like some thing to do with the cable to me?

Are they the inners/bearings for the jockey wheels on the rear mech, they sound like they could/should be?

These are they :)

Ahh, they're the little brass ends that should be on either ends of your outer cables!

Would they be ferrels? They look a little small to fit round the outside of the cable outers?

they are similar to the rear mech jockey bearings on some mechs. but they look a bit too posh to actual be them.

if they're ferrels then one side would have a smaller cable sized hole then the other which woudn't have one a such, just metal thickness.

Looking at the pic now im on my laptop and not my phone, id go back to my original guess, jockey wheel spindles!
