I tend to ride shimano, i am a big fan of the X series, personally i prefer the LX levers with the lizard grips, xtr front and rear mechs, complete with hollotech chainsets, not very retro but i still have a whole lot of the old shimano gear kicking about, i must say, Sram or KMC chains are out...

May i suggest Lock-tite, you'll have no problems sticking it down, you can get it in liquid form or 'prit stick' version. Sam

Hello Fred, I would say 80mm shouldn't be a problem, 100m could be pushing it too far as the distance from the wheel base to the steerer tube will be longer, decreasing the strength and you are prone to flexing. Unless you go for something like a triple clamp, but only normally you can get them...

I am a maintenance mechanic and i have just sold a set of them levers and i must say, having owned a set for numerous years, they are indestructable. Just a tip, it is difficult to have a clash of levers and callipers as they run off the inner cable. A set of Boxed CNC levers would look fab! Sam
