Neither, it's yellow :D Hell guys, replacing it is the last thing on my mind, I'm in my 50's now and just don't ride it anymore and haven't in a (quite a) while. I used to be quite the rider and actually rode this thing against John Tomac way way back in the day. He wore my narrow bootay out...

I guess I'll be keeping it. No, I do not want to sell individual parts like people kept asking. No, I still do not know how much it would have cost to ship it since I no one told me who would be a good carrier (DHL ?!? UPS !?! something proprietary UK ? dunno). I listed it here as I know from...

Re: Funk Pro Comp The 28 spokers were a M730F and mine does not have the F. I have mentioned to someone that I have no bloody idea how much shipping would be, nor do I know diddly about taxes (VAT?). Someone mention a good carrier and I will get in contact with them, approximate a box size...

Re: Funk Pro Comp BTW, I would have put it more directly in the sun but the way the paint glows really messes with a digi-cam and I have a few to choose from. It's just about uncapturable (is that a word?) with a camera.

Re: Funk Pro Comp Alright, I took it out back of my house for some sunlight pictures. This is exactly the color that it is, not one iota different... The front hub, find another in 28 spoke with the EXACT same part # (hint: you will exhaust your Googlisms). Go ahead, count the spokes. Is it...

Re: Funk Pro Comp You certainly seem awfully committed to disqualifying based upon semantics. I'm certain a reporter from the Denver Post is the end all expert on everything Funk cycles, but.....your math could certainly use some work also. 24 years ago (and how many months?) from a unknown...

Re: Funk Pro Comp I bought it in 1987 and DO have the receipt, but man it will be difficult to find, I will try. I had owned it for some time before the MBA review came out which was in 1990. It was bought as a frameset only and for quite a few years that was the only way they were sold (how...

Re: Funk Pro Comp Should I try to get Keith Bontrager to verify he hand rolled the front MA40 wheel himself, or get Shimano to verify they hand cut the 28 spoke front hub on a custom order ? and no, shipping not included. I have 4k in the bike and know I can't get that....but yea, I'm taking a...

Re: Funk Pro Comp Ahh, Daryl himself responded and kinda sound excited about it.... And if you check up on this thread Daryl. Yes it has the 1.250" Fisher Evolution headset with the Fisher Mt. Tam forks. <edit > Figured I'd be the nice guy and edit out his personal email addy in case a bot...

    Laïti Mono, aka the brainbreaker

In order to get it tracking straight and true, try messing with the *dish* on the rear wheel (you guys might term it 'offset'). All it takes is a spoke wrench and some messing about. It is a very sensitive setting....+/- 1mm will make significant changes in the tracking.

Re: Funk Pro Comp Oh yea... Nothing on the underside of the bottom bracket either ?!? BTW, I figured WTH and just sent the folks at Funk Cycles a link to this thread asking them to either acknowledge or discredit the missing serials :) I truly hope one of them shows up, and I did give them...

Re: Funk Pro Comp Quite serious, never had a serial on this bike and I bought it new. See if you can spot the area it should be in and I'll do a macro photo of it if need be.....

Re: Funk Pro Comp There is no serial number anywhere on it, it never had one. I honestly do not even know what area of the frame would have had the number stamping. If anyone knows what area it is *supposed* to be imprinted on I will provide a detailed photo of said area.

Re: Funk Pro Comp Here's something.... I don't know if you guys have ever had these over there. The shift levers. They have a switch that in one position has SIS for Shimano indexing system (detent shifting) and it flips to F for friction shifting (non index) incase your cable gets out of synch...

Re: Funk Pro Comp Giom6: It was listed as "mid sized" when I bought the frame and fork (from a long gone business called 'The Bike Beat' and they certainly have a story themselves). I could give measurements but they really don't correlate to diddly on a frame like this. Suffice to say I'm 6...

You get much better leverage when the roller isn't so close to the derail.... I'm not going to drop a 6th year engineering thesis on the whole idea behind it, just try and use your imagination :) BTW, back in those days it was incredibly hard to find a top pull ft. derail, just finding one to...

    Funk Pro Comp

My Pro Comp was the first Funk with an alien roller. I drilled and tapped the bottom bracket myself, later funks came with a 'nutsert' insert in exactly the same place mine is done. It came from the Nishiki Alien bike which had similar styled chainstays and was a workaround to make the ft...

Re: Funk Pro Comp Thx KDM. Truly appreciate it. The way most forums are these days they normally do not allow newbz to post pics or anything for sale. Yes I am in the US, but don't hold that against me, I was born in Scotland :þ
